3rd Project

I decided to base my project on being more creative and tapping in to my illustrative side. I love painting, and I usually just go with the flow of what I'm feeling at that moment instead of sketching.

Why I chose this project: I chose this project because it was suggested by Professor Thomas, but also because I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to step away from all of the building and hands on crafts and instead go into a more relaxed sense of state as this semester comes to an end.

Week #1: My first week of Project #3 consisted of gathering and organizing my ideas and researching what I wanted to paint. During this week I also started to gather my materials.

Week #2: The second week of my project I started decorating the sticks and painting my portrait.

Week #3: The final week I finished my painting and added some flower petals to it, I ended up not liking how the sticks were turning, so instead I just went with the painting by itself.

Self-Critique: I would have to say that this project was the most difficult, because I was up and down on how I felt about it as far as whether I liked it or not. Overall, through me ripping the pieces off that I didn't like and experimenting, I like it! I guess I can try sketching things out in the future, maybe. I also noticed that my poster board didn't hold water or liquid to well because it started to bend, so next time I will pick a better canvas to paint on.

  1. Cool project and a lot of imagery in the painting.

  2. I like the painting. the color and texture shows your impression of nature. If i was to make an y changes it would be to continue with the 3D element of the project. It is clear you spent a lot of time on this project.
